At CleanSea our goal is to stop marine life from being harmed by ocean trash, and shape a clean future for the ocean!
CleanSea was started in 2019 by twins Lukas and Mikaela. Today we are 10 people working together to make an impact for marine life, and we all love the ocean!

Mikaela Julher: Co-founder
As a child I had a lot of passion for the ocean. I collected seashell species and different types of sand, and made small "science" books about marine animals I found fascinating. As an adult, snorkelling has become my favourite thing. I've seen the ocean become less and less healthy, but CleanSea is how I can make the ocean a better place for sea life.

Lukas Julher: Co-founder
I've always been fascinated by the ocean and life under the surface. I love to snorkel, learn about interesting marine animals, and I want to do my absolute best to protect the future of our oceans.

Nature has always been close to my heart. It feels incredibly fulfilling to help it thrive while experiencing the stunning landscapes of the Swedish west coast.

Sustainability and environmental awareness are deeply rooted in every part of my life, so being able to contribute to a cleaner coastline feels very meaningful to me. Alongside CleanSea, I run a second-hand store, and I’m passionate about inspiring people to take care of the Earth’s resources. I also love being outdoors and getting to experience all the beautiful places here in Bohuslän.

Working toward a better and more sustainable future has always been very important to me. Nature has given me so much throughout my life, so naturally it feels important to give back. Through my work at CleanSea, I have the opportunity to do my part and make a concrete difference.

Having a meaningful job has always been very very important to me. By working at CleanSea I can make a concrete difference for what is important to me, the ocean and it's marine life. I have always received so much from nature, so it feels nice to spend my time making an impact for the ocean.

I've always lived close to the ocean and it has a special place in my heart. It's important to me to be part of the efforts to make a difference for a cleaner ocean!

Working with something meaningful has always been a goal for me, and being able to make a difference for the sea is fantastic! I have spent a lot of time with my family by the sea on the German north coast, in Halmstad and Karlskrona, and it really is something I find peace in. So it feels very nice to be able to give back and preserve our beautiful sea.
